Wendy Wang, the assistant of the principal of Shanghai Wenlai High School and the executive director of the International department, graduated from East China Normal University in 2007 with Master of Education. She then joined in Shanghai Wenlai High School and served as a class teacher, teaching Politics and doing some educational research work. In the meantime, Wendy Wang participates and works as a researcher in the Politics Teacher Studio of Minhang District and Shanghai Political Science Committee of Secondary Education. Because of her excellent working performance, she was rewarded as the Outstanding Communist and the Star of Hope of Minhang District. Since 2009, she started to be in charge of international department. With great effort, Shanghai Wenlai High School successfully acquired the qualification of independently operating international programs in 2014 and became one of the 21 pilot high schools with international programs approved by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
Liu Xin is vice director of the International Division of SWIS. She is also a psychology teacher. Ms. Liu received her bachelor’s degree in economics from Donghua University in 1997. In 2010, she completed her master’s degree in educational and developmental psychology at Beijing Normal University. Immediately after graduation, she worked as an administrator and trainer in several Fortune 500 companies. In 2004, she joined Wenlai High School as a full-time psychology teacher. Since then, she has held several different positions. She became a member of the International Division in 2012 and is now in charge of curriculum design and management. Ms. Liu is a Level 2 school psychologist certified by the Shanghai municipal government and a career development facilitator certified by the National Career Development Association (U.S.A).
J. Craig Ramsey（国际部副主任、历史教师）
J. Craig Ramsey老师2005年毕业于南卡罗莱纳大学，获教育学硕士学位。毕业后，他在南卡哥伦布市的一所蓝带IB学校教授美国历史，评价IB作业，并担任校学生会首席指导。他还在华盛顿哥伦比亚特区公立学校学区系统中担任领导职务，主要负责撰写学校提升方案，并通过分析学区内的相关数据来为学生学习创造更好的支持条件。他和他的夫人在2009年来到中国。他曾担任北京二十五中国际部外方校长。之后他帮助北京二中与美国的合作学校紧密协作，建立了国际课程项目。目前，Ramsey先生任文来国际部副主任，参与课程设计与实施，并帮助教师团队完成有实证支持的教学目标。Ramsey先生与夫人及两个年幼的儿子住在上海，他喜欢阅读，烹饪，与家人一起探索城市
J. Craig Ramsey graduated with a Masters of Education from the University of South Carolina in 2005. Since that time, he has worked at a Blue Ribbon International Baccalaureate school in Columbia, South Carolina (USA) where he taught American history, judged IB projects and was the head advisor of the student council. He has also worked as an administrator for the District of Columbia Public School System in Washington, DC (USA) where he aided in the development of a school improvement plan and analyzed district-wide data to better support student learning. He and his wife relocated to China in 2009, and since then Mr. Ramsey has been foreign principal of the international programs at the No. 25 High School in Beijing, and more recently, at the No 2. High School in Beijing where he aided in the founding of a program in conjunction with an American-based partner school. Currently, Mr. Ramsey is Vice-Director of SWIS where he advises the school in regards to curriculum design and implementation and supports faculty members in the achievement of research-supported educational outcomes. Mr. Ramsey lives in Shanghai with his wife and two young sons and enjoys reading, exploring the city with his family, and cooking.
Christine Lan joined SWIS in June 2011. She has worked as a class teacher, ESL teacher, guidance counselor and is now Coordinator of the Guidance Department. She graduated from Shanghai International Studies University and majored in English Language and Literature. She had worked as an English teacher for many years. Later on, because of personal interest and job requirements, she became a Level 2 psychological counselor certified by Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China. She is also a career development facilitator certified by National Career Development Association (U.S.). In addition, she’s a member of International Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) as well as a member of National Association for College Admission Counseling. (NACAC – U.S.)
Qin Qi (Michael)，Qin Qi graduated from Shanghai University of Sport with a Bachelor of Physical Education. He started his work as a PE teacher as well as a basketball coach from 2006 at Shanghai Wenlai High School. During his teaching career, he presented several district-level open classes, released many papers about education which were published on district-level as well as city-level educational journals. Besides, led by Qin Qi, the school basketball team won several district-level and city-level basketball league championships. He works as a class teacher since 2008, and his classes gained the district-level and city-level honor of The Advanced Class. Since 2015, he works as the Dean of the Students at international department of Shanghai Wenlai High School, concentrating in students’ regular activities and moral education as well.
Constantin Marcopoulos老师于2011年毕业于斯特拉斯堡大学，主攻“物理化学在生物学中的应用”方向，这也是继他本科和硕士教育后的多维度综合学科。在博士学位期间,他获得了在斯特拉斯堡大学物理系和生物系教学三年的机会,同时也有机会成为许多国家级和欧洲科学组织活动中的一份子。自2012年Constantin Marcopoulos博士搬到中国以来,他便在上海文来高中国际部担任物理、化学、生物学科的老师。作为科学学科部的负责人,他为有意愿去美国或其他说英语的国家完成12年级学业的中国学生开发了一种多学科科学项目。Constantin Marcopoulos博士致力于帮助学生提高、巩固科学基础知识，养成良好的学习习惯,这也是为什么他每天与中国班主任以及其他同事一起团结协作,努力改善学生们的学习环境和条件,为让他们拥有光明的未来创造更多机会。
Dr Constantin Marcopoulos graduated from the University of Strasbourg in 2011 with a PhD in Physics-Chemistry applied to Biology, ending a multidisciplinary education which started with a Science bachelor and a Research Master. During his PhD, he had the opportunity to teach at University level in the Physics and Biology faculties of the University of Strasbourg for three years, and also had the chance to be part in the organization of many national and European scientific popularization events. He moved to China, and since 2012, he is teaching Phyics-Chemistry-Biology at Wenlai Shanghai International School. As Head of the Science department, he developed a multidisciplinary scientific program for Chinese students willing to finish their 12th Grade in America or any English speaking country. He is mainly interested in helping the students to develop strong scientific basics and learning habits, which is why he is also daily collaborating with the Chinese homeroom teachers and staff to improve the environment and study conditions of the students, to give them more chances to have a bright future.
Lucy Lu has had various roles since she’s been at SWIS: from literature teacher, to ESL director, to Humanities Department Head. She graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Finance and worked in a couple of companies immediately after graduation. After realizing that teaching was her passion while living in Korea, she had the opportunity to come and work in SWIS and that’s how she arrived in Shanghai. SWIS has helped her grow and mature into an experienced teacher that is loved by many students. Her classes are a great bridge that helps the students to adapt to an English-speaking environment. Her infectious personality creates a very comfortable environment for the students to learn and grow.
Mike Hodge is from the USA. He has a master’s degree in math from Southern Illinois University and additional graduate study in statistics and business at University of Florida. Mike has been teaching math and statistics in several different schools in China for seven years, mostly in AP and IB programs. Prior to coming to China, Mike was a college math professor at Santa Fe College in Florida for eight years, and also taught math at University of Florida for two years.Mike is currently the head of math here at Shanghai Wenlai International School, in addition to being a math teacher. His main expertise is in teaching AP Calculus and AP Statistics.
Sarah Katherine Kimmet（文学教研组长、文学教师）
Sarah Katherine Kimmet老师出生于美国路易斯安那州首府巴吞鲁日，.她在路易斯安娜世纪学院（Centenary College of Louisiana）取得了学士学位；在路易斯安那州立大学（Louisiana State University）取得硕士学位。2011年，她在马里兰大学帕克分校（University of Maryland, College Park）获得了英语语言文学博士学位。随后她以外国专家身份，在浙江大学外国语言文化与国际交流学院执教五年。Kimmet博士的丰富的教学经验还包括为路易斯安那州立大学（LSU）和马里兰大学帕克分校（UMD）的英语系设计课程并执教。此外，她还担任了所有这些项目的正式的学生顾问。Kimmet博士的主要研究领域为美国文学、小说的理论和实践以及伦理和文学。
Sarah Katherine Kimmet hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana in the U.S.A. She completed her bachelor's degree at Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, Louisiana and her master's degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She received her PhD in English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2011 and subsequently spent five years as a foreign expert in the School of International Studies of Zhejiang University in Hangzhou. Dr. Kimmet's extensive teaching experience also includes courses taught in, and designed for, the English Departments at LSU and UMD and the Honors Humanities Program at UMD. In addition, she held official posts as a student advisor in all of these programs. Dr. Kimmet's primary research fields are American literature, theory and practice of the novel, and ethics and literature.
Mike Day 老师1986年本科毕业于曼切斯特大学数学专业，1987年硕士毕业于英国兰卡斯特大学的运筹学专业。在2000年Mike Day先生获得由一所独立的丹麦学院颁发的教育学文凭，此项文凭的学习包含在非洲的安哥拉6个月的教学实践。同时Mike Day先生还拥有TEFL证书。Mike Day先生具有多元文化工作背景，曾在丹麦的一所国际中学任教，也在美国的一所非营利性组织里担任老师，为远赴非洲从事人道主义工作的国际性志愿者进行教学和培训工作。另外在美国期间，Mike day先生创立并运营了二手服装回收的商业活动。现在作为上海文来国际中学的物理和数学老师，对Mike Day先生来说，又是一个让人兴奋的旅程。Mike Day 先生在国际象棋上也非常活跃，是一位资深的国际象棋棋手。
Mr Mike Day graduated from the universities of Manchester and Lancaster (UK) with degrees in Mathematics (1986) and Operational Research (1987). He also took a teaching diploma at an independent Danish college (2000) involving six months training teachers in Angola. He also holds a TEFL. He has worked previously in multicultural environments both as a high school teacher at an international school in Denmark, and a teacher of adults preparing to go and do development work in Africa (in the US). He has also set up and run businesses in the US. Excited to be able to contribute his enthusiasm for math and physics and his international perspective to SWIS. An active international chess player.
Fred Zhang is a math teacher in Wenlai International School. He graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University and earned the bachelor degree of engineering. Fred went to Singapore National University to obtain the master degree of engineering later on. After working in Singapore for a couple of years, he immigrated to Canada. Fred worked in Canada for 8 years, involving numerical controlled machining business. 2008 Fred went back to Shanghai to work in Shanghai High School International Division as a math teacher. He taught algebra 2, pre-calculus and AP calculus in grade 8,9,10,11 and 12. In 2014 Fred came to Wenlai High School to teach algebra 2 , pre-calculus and AP calculus in grade 10 and 11. Fred worked with his team to prepare the students for their future US college education.
Rodney Hollingsworth graduated from Morris Brown College in March, 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Entertainment Business and from the American Intercontinental University with a Master of Education degree, concentrating in Curriculum Theory. His teaching career began as an academic coach in literature. From there, he went on to co teach a jazz band at a local high school in Atlanta, Georgia and then working as a residential assistant at the University of Los Angeles California (UCLA) in the summer of 2007. In winter 2009, Rodney began is first extensive teaching career overseas in Busan, Korea, to which he taught High School conversational English for two years. He obtained his TEFL certification from the International TEFL certification program in January, 2011. In winter 2012, he then moved to Beijing, China to teach English at Wall Street English to which he continued in Shanghai, China until September, 2014. Presently he is teaching World History and Geography and American History at Shanghai Wenlai High School. As a teacher, it is his dedication to strengthen cognition and personal outlook on life.
Jewel Carter Warnock老师，毕业于Evansville大学，戏剧和传媒专业（包括广播、电视、电影）。20年广播工作播音工作经验，出过书，参与过Emmy获奖纪录片。职业生涯中也一直指导其他人的学习热情。在美国、加拿大，有超过10年的教师、教练、指导工作室的工作经验。Jewel工作室指导的一位青少年，参加《美国偶像》竞赛，并获得第11名。2016年6月，Jewel来到上海，教英语、文学、加拿大历史。这位老师具有国际认可的通用英语教师资格证（TEFL），教育目的旨在培养学生信心，帮助学生设定人生目标。
Jewel Carter Warnock graduated from The University of Evansville with a degree in both theatre and communications (Radio, TV, and Film). With over 20 years in radio, this published author has appeared in an Emmy award winning documentary and has spent her career guiding the passions of others. She has been teaching, coaching and conducting workshops and seminars for over ten years throughout the U.S. and Canada. After attending one of Jewel’s workshops and events one young teen went on to compete in American Idol and came in eleventh place. Jewel moved to Shanghai in June of 2016 to teach English, Literature and Canadian History. This TEFL certified teacher is committed to helping her students develop their confidence and set amazing and obtainable goals for their future.
Peipei Jin graduated from Shanghai Normal University, majoring in Chemistry in 2005. After graduation, she returned to her alma mater---Qibao High School as a chemistry teacher. After that, she came to Wenlai High School. She has won the second award twice in the Education and Teaching Competition of Minhang District. Her class is vivid, interesting and wildly popular with her students. Now she works as a bilingual chemistry teacher and teaching affairs specialist in SWIS of Wenlai High School.
Jessica Ji graduated from Fudan University with a master degree in English language and literature. She had a wide range of experience in translation and interpretation after graduation. But not until she became a teacher did she realize that teaching is her way of self-realization. She believes in the motto that education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire. Caring and devoted, she supports the students not only in their academic performance but also in their self-development.
Ms. Shen graduated from Fudan University in 2002 with Bachelor of finance. She taught math in Qibao High School for 12 years. In 2015,Bonnie came to Wenlai High School to teach algebra 2. She is always interested in education and delighted to join SWIS. She likes reading and travelling in her spare time.
Ms. Liu Xiaomei graduated with a Master of English Education from the University of Hong Kong and is currently the head of ESL team in Shanghai Wenlai International School. During the period when she worked in one of foreign language schools as an English teacher in the first two years and the teaching supervisor in the third year, she managed a team of more than 18 teaching staff making and implementing teaching proposals, participated in developing school-based curriculum and assessment system and supervised inter-departmental cooperation. During her study in HKU, she received professional development on English & Chinese language education and was fully equipped with creative and functional teaching strategies such as CLT and TBLT. With the most advanced theoretical knowledge of SLA, she joined SWIS in the early 2014 to be the head of ESL team, mainly helping ESL teachers upgrade their teaching techniques through weekly teaching research meetings and building ESL teaching syllabus and materials with SWIS characteristics.
Emma Shen is a language fanatic. Her passion for the English language, together with her faith in the transformative power of education, is why she finds in English teaching an ideal vocation. Five years of ESL, TOEFL and SAT teaching has given her much to think about. While subject knowledge and pedagogical skills are important for a qualified teacher, successful teaching also hinges upon the building of relationships between a teacher and the students. A teacher should understand, respect and truly care for her students if she wants to have a real impact. When students like a teacher, she has a better chance of helping them grow into compassionate individuals with the skills and outlook to function in the modern world. She deems it a genuine privilege to be able to work in the teaching profession and will continue to put the well-being of students at the heart of everything she does as a teacher.
Ms. Chen graduated from China Pharmaceutical University in 2010 with Bachelor of Arts in Pharmaceutical English. After three years’ training employees professional English in multinational company, she started master education in English Translation at Shanghai Normal University, and got the degree in 2016. She is always interested in education and delighted to join SWIS. She likes reading and travelling in her spare time.
Ms. Ye graduated from Shanghai Normal University with Bachelor Degree of Arts in English in 2004 and passed TEM-8. She started English teaching from 2004 to 2012 in Qibao Senior High School, and from 2012 till now she is dedicated to Wenlai International School. Ms. Ye is an experienced English teacher of 12 years and class teacher of 10 years, with English teaching of 12 years and class managing of 10 years. She has got honors like “Excellent Young Teacher”. She is one of the Minhang Elite Class Teachers.
